FLOAT BALL ASSY. The Hoffman Specialty 604032 is a replacement float ball assembly for 1-1/4" and 1-1/2" Series C float & thermostatic steam traps. Repairs Series C This float ball repairs models FT075C-5, FT125C-5, FT175C-5, FT015C-6, FT030C-6, FT075C-6, FT125C-6, and FT175C-6. Floats attach to the valve mechanism on F&T traps, allowing the condensate to drain from the trap. The mechanism is a lever and seat operation; it holds in place by screwing the seat into the outlet port within the trap. With the float attached to this mechanism, the weight of the float keeps the lever down, keeping the seat closed when steam is present. When the steam cools and turns to a liquid state (condensate), the trap fills with condensate, causing the float to rise, opening the seat to allow the condensate to drain.
